There seems to be more good news coming out about walnuts all the time like their ability to help lower cholesterol. And now there is more direct evidence that walnuts can reduce the risk for breast cancer. These results were found in a study at Marshal Univ. School of Medicine in which mice that were genetically engineered to develop breast cancer at a higher rate had their risk cut in half when they were fed 2 oz of walnuts a day during the course of their lifetimes. So incorporating walnuts into your diet would be another way to stay healthy. You can eat them raw or roasted, add them into a salad or grind them up and sprinkle it on your oatmeal. I like to use walnut oil for a salad dressing. It’s not good for cooking but really is good for flavor and gives you the same antioxidant benefits of whole walnuts.
